Alan
Davidson was born and raised in Dundee,
and has been working exclusively in the
entertainment industry for all his adult
life.
He started playing guitar and singing in
London pubs and clubs in the mid 80s and
ended up living in Norway for ten years
working as a professional piano-bar entertainer
in the style of Elton John and Billy Joel.
Alan would entertain guests 6 nights a week
for years on end, and this undoubtedly resulted
in much experience making people laugh and
feel good creating an enjoyable atmosphere
in a room full of people. Alan still performs
in this way at Gleneagles Golf Hotel where
pianobar style wedding parties are very
popular.
On returning to Scotland in 2004 with his
Norwegian wife and children Alan started
performing as Half Daft the Clown allowing
him to combine his wide knowledge of magic
with his unparalleled ability to entertain
and make people laugh.
So Half Daft draws on Alans wide
range of musical skills as well as magic
and musical theatre. Also, his TV experience...

was on national television in Scandinavia
appearing as Sir Cliff Richard on Stars
in Their Eyes, he sang 'Summer Holiday'
to great acclaim.
Alan
and his young family now live in Arbroath,
Angus in Scotland, where he has just completed
a 4 year degree course in psychology MA
Hons at Dundee University. Although 'a clown'
Alan draws on this knowledge in helping
make his audience feel comfortable and relaxed
in any performance setting. Alan has public liability
insurance for up to 10 million pound and
is a fully paid up member of 'Equity the
Actors Union', he also has disclosure Scotland
certification.
